The Pebde Museum

Pebde Museum is going to be the first and only specialized museum of handwritten books and historical manuscripts in Iran. in contrast with most of the museums in Iran that are built in big advanced cities, this museum will be constructed in a medium-large planned city called “Fuladshahr”. This museum is going to be the hub of culture and art of the region and help the tourism industry. The most crucial goal of this project is to make a place that would be welcomed by people and could engage them to participate in cultural and educational programs. This project has been nominated for the Asia Young Designer Awards 2021.

Concepts

We have considered two main concepts for designing this project.

  1. The first concept is: “The presence of people gives meaning to places”. The Pebde museum is not going to be just an exhibition for presenting ancient manuscripts but also a multifunctional place inviting people to be engaged in cultural and educational programs.
  2. The museum will invite people to learn, communicate, and even be entertained. Since ancient manuscripts are so sensitive to light, many interior spaces should be protected from natural light.  So our second concept is: “An adventure to ancient underground cities in Iran”. This concept has helped us to meet the challenges of the project while inspiring us to design diverse and exciting environments.

Here is one of my motion graphics designs for the concepts of this project, titled “An adventure to an ancient underground city”.
